Contexte
The ERMINE team of the IRISA laboratory invites applications for a postdoc position on Edge computing and virtualization. The postdoc is part of a collaborative project funded by the Brittany region. The latter, aims to develop a platform that facilitates the deployment of IoT services, with a focus on video processing services, by leveraging virtualization technologies and edge computing resources. The results will be tested and validated on maritime use cases.
Mission
- The global objective of this postdoctoral is the design and implementation of a service/network-aware kubernetes-based orchestrator and the different exposed interfaces.
- The postdoc is expected to independently take the lead of one or two work packages and to participate in the realization of the tasks of these latter.
- The postdoc will be also involved in mentoring junior researchers and students in our team.
- The postdoc will have the opportunity to work in a research project that gathers academic, and industrial partners. This environment allows the postdoc to validate the conducted researches within the platforms of our industrial partners.
Profil / Compétences
• The candidate should hold a PhD in Computer Science. A strong background in networking and good knowledge about Network virtualization is required.
• Experience on Kubernetes-based implementation and machine learning is considered an advantage.
• Good scripting and coding skills.
• Good writing and communication skills.
• Autonomous and team working capabilities.
