220 people came to discover the JURASTIC exhibition on Saturday, October 11, at Le Diapason in Rennes. A historical heritage of computer equipment was on display to the general public as part of the 50th anniversary of the IRISA laboratory
Several IRISA scientists accompanied the visits, explaining the old machines and inventions that have marked history. The younger visitors enjoyed discovering new things, while the older ones reminisced about the past. Demonstrations and workshops (exclusively on Saturday) welcomed visitors eager to try out some of the equipment and programs. They were able to use an optical pen from the 1980s, understand vector drawing, and remember the early days of digital gaming with retrogaming. The exhibition allowed visitors to grasp the impact of the scientific and technological discoveries that revolutionized computing and its use.
