IRISA was delighted to contribute to Phd' Day 2025, which took place in Lannion on 19 December.
On 19 June, ENSSAT in Lannion hosted the Journée des Doctorants 2025 (Phd'day), an event organised by the Association des Doctorants de Lannion with the support of the Anticipa technology park, the Brittany Region, the Côtes d'Armor Department and Lannion-Trégor Communauté.
This annual event, which brought together around forty doctoral students and numerous public and private sector players, provided an opportunity to showcase local research and strengthen the links between young researchers and the ecosystem.
The morning began with a presentation of the local structures working to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship (Anticipa, including the technology park, French tech and the Work In lannion dynamic), Pépite Bretagne, LTC, academic laboratories and training establishments). Anticipa presented the region's entrepreneurial dynamic and its network of innovative and industrial companies. Using concrete examples of doctoral students who have become entrepreneurs, the Anticipa technology park shed light on the creation of research-based businesses.
One of the highlights of the day was the round table discussion on ‘What to do after your thesis’, which brought together speakers from a wide range of backgrounds: Lily Wadoux (IUT Lannion), Zakaria Guellia (Anzar) and Gwenolé Lecorvé (Orange) came to share their experiences in teaching, applied research and entrepreneurship.
Another highlight was the ‘Un cas pratique à ma thèse’ competition, a timed scientific popularisation exercise that highlighted the ability of doctoral students to make their work accessible. Marco Andersohn, a doctoral student at Orange Innovation, was awarded the prize for the best presentation of his project on cybersecurity and quantum physics, with a cheque for €200.
Informal discussions around the scientific posters, lunch and afternoon tea enabled participants to forge links, make business contacts and identify tomorrow's talent.
Through this event, the region is demonstrating its commitment to promoting research and building practical bridges between the academic world and local innovation.
