Automatic Generation of Local-First Collaborative Modeling Languages

The ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award (presented at the MODELS 2026 conference in Málaga, Spain) is a true recognition of the research conducted jointly by the DiverSE team and CEA LIST.

The paper titled “Automatic Generation of Local-First Collaborative Modeling Languages” proposes a generic solution for the automatic generation of collaborative modeling languages, paving the way for new forms of distributed and collaborative modeling-based engineering. This is an interesting breakthrough that offers promising prospects for the collaborative engineering of digital twins, particularly within the framework of the national research program “Engineering Digital Twins” (EDT).

Congratulations to Benoît Combemale, Research Director at Inria — Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Rennes, DiverSE team at IRISA—and to his colleagues at CEA LIST, Léo Olivier (Ph.D. student) and Marcos Dodonet Del Fabro (senior researcher), as well as at IRT Jules Vernes, Sébastien Gérard (senior researcher).
