Research in Immersive Environments @GIG (Graphics, Interaction and Games) Lab at Porto
In this talk we explore the research lines of the GIG Lab on Immersive Environments. We approach immersive Environments in a triadic approach, providing Immersion from technology, narrative and agency. From digital games and gamification to the use of extended reality (XR), immersive solutions can provide many possibilities.
On Extended Reality we investigate multisensory VR, collaborative Mixed Reality, 3D Interaction and applications of AR in culture and heritage.
We explore narratives on sound walks and the procedural generation on these narratives on any location.
Finally, we present Serious Games and Gamification on very specific applications, from training and maintenance to energy saving.
