VoD

A video on demand service that meets the constraints of both responsiveness and high availability

Members

Michel Banâtre, Manuel Billot, Valérie Issarny, Isabelle Puaut.

Contributions

Our research focuses on the design and implementation of solutions aimed at increasing the availability of multimedia applications, including VoD servers. Our approach towards that goal consists of enriching an existing reservation-based protocol so as to integrate the criteria of availability as one additional application requirement upon the underlying system.

Experiments

We are experimenting our solutions through the implementation of a VoD server on top of a chorus-based distributed platform.
