Recognition and interpretation of images and documents
Resarches carried out within IMADOC (IMAges and DOCuments)
research team (also called project) relate to "writing and document"
under all their forms (handwritten form, printed form, graphic form,
multimedia, etc.) as well as the activities related to them, namely:
- Transformation of existing paper documents into
their elaborate electronic version,
- "Intelligent" document processing,
- Man-Document Interaction (MDI).
From a broader point of view, the main interests of
IMADOC project are dealing with a triple aspect: document synthesis,
document analysis, computer human-document interaction.
Research orientations
- Recognition of the on-line (dynamic) handwriting
and off-line (static) handwriting,
- Extraction of the document structure
(separation of knowledge and processing, grammar),
- Pen based Man-Machine Interface
(gesture modeling , generic interface),
- Perception models and systems
(perceptive cycles, addition of context),
- Text comparison and approximate search in texts
(search for two texts common elements).
