Venue
IWFHR'10 will
be held on October 23 to 26 at the "Atlantia Cultural and Congress
Centre" in La Baule, an elegant seaside resort located on West
Coast, in the Loire-Atlantique Department
included in the region of the Pays-de-la-Loire,
450 km away from Paris. Looking towards both the continent and the
sea, there is a wide choice of transport available. You can get
there quickly and easily.
The Atlantia
Cultural and Congress Centre is located about 2 km away from
the central railway station. Frequent bus connections and taxi are
available.
Located in
the centre of the Côte d'Amour or Love Coast just west of
Nantes, La Baule is an internationally renowned resort, easily accessible
and highly popular throughout the year. Like most Breton towns,
it was the Victorians that first flocked here to enjoy the balmy
air. La Baule's inviting five mile (eight km) stretch of white sandy
beach provides the perfect place for a superb promenade.

By train:
There are a number of round trips on a typical week day and journey
times with TGV (high speed train) and TER (regional express train):
- 4 direct TGV Paris Montparnasse - La Baule-Escoublac: 3 hours
- 20 TGV Paris Montparnasse - La Baule-Escoublac via Nantes and
Saint Nazaire: 3-4 hours
- 20 TER Nantes - La Baule-Escoublac: 50 minutes

The closest railway station to the conference venue is La
Baule-Escoublac, and not La Baule-Les Pins.

By air:
The international Nantes/Atlantique
airport ensures flights to major European destinations. There
are daily links to Paris (1 hour flight).
There are direct links from and to London (British Airways). There
is a direct flight from Gatwick (London) to Nantes Atlantique Airport.
By road:
The A11 motorway and the N171 highway link Paris to La Baule (450km).
You can get there in less than five hours.
Shuttles
Free transfert shuttles will be at the disposal of the participants from the railway station La Baule Escoublac, the Atlantia Center and the Pierre et Vacances Résidence (P&V Résidence) every day.
