Research areas

I am a researcher at Inria. My research is focused on flow control, reduced-order modelling and data assimilation. Estimation and control of fluid flows are real challenges and the use of models, eventually reduced, in combination with data is crucial to take advantage of all informations we have on such complex systems.

I am particularly interested on noise amplifier flows, globally stable but convectively unstable, such as mixing layers, jets, boundary layers or backward facing steps. These flows are characterised by high sensitivity to perturbations resulting in broad band responses. In that context, the tools coming from linear stability are particularly adapted. Amplifier flows are a platform to develop techniques of modelling, estimation, data assimilation and control for systems submitted to perturbations.

Keywords: flow control, reduced-order modelling, data assimilation, stability
