Cursus

Henri NICOLAS graduated from the INSA of Rennes in 1988, and received his Ph-D degree in computer science from the University of Rennes in 1992. For his thesis, he worked at IRISA/INRIA of Rennes (France) and at the INRS-Telecommunications of Montreal (Canada). The subject of his thesis was related to the developement of new digital television systems. In 1993 and 1994, he worked at the 'Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne' (EPFL, Switzerland) as the leader of the research group on Digital Television of the Signal Processing Laboratory. From October 1994 to February 1996, he worked at CRAY Research (in Lausanne, switzerland and Minneapolis, USA) for real-time implementations on the massively parallel computer CRAY T3D of digital video analysis algorithms. Since March 1996, he works as a permanant researcher at INRIA of Rennes in the TEMICS team.
