Vincent Bottreau was born in France, in 1976. He received the French
state degree of Physics Engineer from the Ecole Nationale
Supérieure de Physique Strasbourg (ENSPS), Strasbourg, France,
in 1999, with a specialization in Image Acquisition and Processing. He
also received the DEA (diploma validating the first year of a Ph.D.
programme) in Photonic and Image Processing from the Université
Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France, in 1999.
From 1999 to 2003 he was with Philips Research France, Suresnes,
France, where he worked as a Research Scientist in the Video and
Communication group.
In 2003 he has joined IRISA as a Research Expert in the TEMICS team.
His research interests include video coding, with a special focus on
motion estimation, scalability, and transcoding. He holds 15 patents
dealing with Motion-Compensated 3D subband scalable video coding.
