Real-time fluid simulation on iPhone

iPads and iPhones are perfect for highly interactive applications. In this talk, I will present  the "Wind tunnel" app I developed. It is designed to provide real-time simulation of incompressible fluid flow through the numerical resolution of the Navier-Stokes Equations. A common stable computational fluid dynamics  algorithm is used for this task, which will be quickly introduced. 
 Achieving both high resolution and high frame rates poses significant computational issues, especially with the limited resources available on mobile devices. This talk will explain some of the techniques used to circumvent this problem : trade-offs in the simulation, vectorization of the code, programmable GPU shaders...
I will finish with a demo showing the different features of the software.
