DELL Cluster
|
In December 2006, the physical installation of a new cluster was completed, two racks having 66 dual core processors each are now installed and available.
HARDWARE
This cluster is made of two racks, with 34 nodes in each rack. Nodes are dual 2.33Ghz Xeons (Xeon 5148 LV) with 4 GB RAM, wich are dual core processors. Each node is equiped with a 160 Gbytes disk (except two that play the role of head nodes, they are equiped with two 160Gbytes of disks). All machines are equiped with a DRAC5 card for remote management that ensure total access to the machines for remote users, including access to the console for kernel debugging.
Two of the 68 nodes are used as head nodes, that run essential system services(eg: NIS, DHCP, ganglia, remote boot).
The cluster is online 24/7.
LAN
The nodes are connected with gigabit ethernet. Two racks are interconnected using Myrinet 10G.
WAN
This cluster is connected to Grid'5000 with a 10 Gigabit connection provided by Renater and interconnected to the rest of the local cluster with a non-blocking 1Gigabit connection to our router.
SOFTWARE
Software that will be installed on these nodes will be the default software for Grid'5000 nodes.
