Thesis Subject
Software architecture for dynamic
adaptation; application to data replication
Supervised by Françoise André and
Maria-Teresa Segarra (IT / Telecom Bretagne, Brest).
The aim of my thesis is to define a software architecture and methods to support dynamic adaptation of a distributed application. My work concentrates on defining a generic framework for dynamic and distributed adaptation. Several primitive adaptation systems can be used to adapt distributed application components, each being responsible for adapting a subset of components. We defined functionalities to make the primitive adaptation systems cooperative. The framework can be customized to the application services and to the components distribution.
We illustrate our proposal by
designing and implementing the adaptation of a data replication system that
reacts to the dynamic evolution of the execution context.
The research leading to this thesis has partially received funding from the Brittany region of France (the ALORAD project).
