Award for the best Spanish thesis in computer science to José A. Galindo

Congratulations to José Ángel Galindo for the best Thesis Award in the field of SISTEDES 2017 with 'Evolution, testing and configuration of variability intensive systems' conducted under co-supervision with Université de Rennes 1 and Universidad de Sevilla

SISTEDES is the Spanish Association on Software Engineering. It promotes the excellence in research as well as the promotion of technology transfer. José Ángel Galindo Duarte defended his doctoral thesis "Evolution, testing and configuration of variability intensive systems" in March of 2015. The thesis was developed within the Program of Doctorate in Computer Engineering of the University of Seville, and obtained the Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate. The directors were professors David Benavides of the University of Seville and Benoit Baudry of the Rennes I University in France within a framework of international co-responsibility.

His research focuses on evolution management, testing and configuration of highly configurable systems and software product lines. Specifically, it has applied automatic analysis of feature models to systems as diverse as the Android ecosystem, video surveillance systems and specific domain languages. At present, the results of his research are being used by companies in the United States and France, countries where he has developed much of his predoctoral and postdoctoral stages.
