PaolaTUBARO.jpgBiography: Paola TUBARO

She was previously a Reader at the University of Greenwich (London, UK). An economist by training, she undertakes interdisciplinary research that draws on data science, computer simulation and social network analysis to shed light on complex and emergent socio-economic phenomena. Her past research investigated, among other things, online privacy, and the structure and functioning of web-based health-oriented communities. She is currently researching the digital platform economy in France, particularly the social capital of micro-workers, networks of entrepreneurs in the sharing economy, and the effects of online booking/rating services on the restaurant industry. She teaches sociology of social networks at Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris. She also convenes the Social Network Analysis study group of British Sociological Association, is an editor of Revue Française de Sociologie, and is a member of the editorial board of the journal Sociology.
