Prior collaborations
The collaboration between Dionysos project-team and Pierre L'Ecuyerstarted in 2002, when Bruno Tuffin and Pierre met during the conference MCQMC (Monte Carlo and Quasi-Monte Carlo Methods in Scientific Computing).
Then short-term invitations have then been realized to initiate the collaboration:
- Bruno Tuffin at Montreal in May 2003 and July 2005,
- Pierre L'Ecuyer at Rennes in April 2004 and April 2006.
The partners also collaborated within a FQNRT-INRIA project 2006 between GERAD and IRISA (coordonited by Francois Legland and Bruno Remillard).
More notably, Pierre L'Ecyer spent a sabbatical year in Rennes between July 2006 and June 2007 (with three months back in Montreal during winter).
This collaboration has resulted in RARE (2006-2007), on rare event simulation (from which collaboration between Gerardo Rubino and Pierre L'Ecuyer have also started).
Finally, thos project allows to involve other people from both sides, Katy Paroux in Rennes, and Fabian Bastin in Montreal, as well as students.
