Miklos Molnar

Since 1989, I am with the INSA of Rennes and I am an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science. I am taking part in research of network desing and optimization algorithms and tools in the laboratory IRISA of Rennes. My main research activity is in combinatorial optimization and management algorithms for networks. My research results are mainly from the following domains: efficient heuristics for NP-hard optimization problems, heuristics for the Steiner problem, constrained spanning problems, routing algorithms for unicast, incast and multicast communications, dependable communications, routing in optical and in wireless networks, energy aware protocols and optimizations.

I am teaching courses on software ingeneering, software quality, object oriented software and system analysis and design, algorithms, complexity, data bases.

Short Vitae

I were graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,  University BME of Budapest in 1976. I joined the Computer Center of BME as researcher. I were working as the director of the Computer Center between 1987 and 1989.In 1989 I were invited at INSA of Rennes, in France. I received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Rennes 1 in 1992 and the French HDR  degree (accreditation to supervise research) in 2008.

You can see the presentation of my works on the constrained spanning problems for the HDR here:  http://www.irisa.fr/videos/hdr/molnar/index.html
