Melhem El Helou

Short Biography

Melhem El Helou received the engineering degree in Telecommunications and Networking from the Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB), of Saint-Joseph University, Lebanon, in 2009. He received the research master’s degree in Telecommunication Networks from both the Saint-Joseph University and the Lebanese University in 2010. Since 2011, he is preparing his PhD at both IRISA labs (University of Rennes 1), France and the Saint-Joseph University, where he is currently a lecturer.

His research and teaching interests include cellular technologies, radio resource management, radio network planning and optimization, and heterogeneous network optimization.

Current Research Activities

His ongoing PhD investigates Common Radio Resource Management (CRRM) in heterogeneous wireless networks. Particularly, Melhem addresses the Radio Access Technology selection problem, aiming to enhance both resource utilization and user experience.

His PhD is under the supervision of Pr. Bernard Cousin (IRISA - University of Rennes 1), Pr. Dany Mezher (ESIB), Dr. Samer Lahoud (IRISA - University of Rennes 1), and Dr. Marc Ibrahim (ESIB).
