LAGADIC

Visual servoing

Context and objectives

LAGADIC is a research project-team within the IRISA laboratory. IRISA is a joint research unit between INRIA, CNRS and the University of Rennes 1. It was created in January 2004. The personal were previously apart of the VISTA project.

The objective of the group is to model and develop strategies of perception and action focused on visual servoing techniques. These methods may be applied in the domains of robotics, computer vision, augmented reality, computer animation, and cogniscience.

LAGADIC is equipped with a robot arm, two pan-tilt units, a mobile robot and a medical robot.

Research axes

We pursue three main areas of research:

  • modeling of optimal visual features for the vision sensors;
  • specification of high level tasks in complex environments;
  • conception of real time image processing algorithms.
