Employment Offer : Engineer R&D

Position description

Searching for data on the Internet is becoming increasingly complex due to the large amount of information available. Although traditional search engines are well known to perform extremely well to index data, they favour mass content and provide manual pull-based navigation. More specifically, they fail at taking into account correlation between contents and users preferences. The ultimate goal of GOSSPLE is to connect in a fully decentralized manner objects and users and to provide the appropriate mapping between objects and users, establish relevant relationships between users and achieve an efficient personalized navigation on the Internet.
In GOSSPLE, we aim at :
1) placing the user at the heart of the search process and
2) providing a fully decentralized approach.
At the core of Gossple lie epidemic protocols: simple, robust and efficient, they provide an ideal and sound basis to implement a fully p2p search infrastructure.

The R&D engineer will participate in the research and development in the GOSSPLE project. More specifically he/she will be responsible of developing the GOSSPLE client and the GOSSPLE network and from that perspective will have a crucial role in the project. He/She will closely work with Anne-Marie Kermarrec and will also be a member of the GOSSPLE research group.
